Dorrance Book Spotlight: Spring Break with Paddy O’Rourke
With spring just around the corner and St. Patrick’s Day on the horizon, we thought this was the perfect time to put our Dorrance Book Spotlight on Spring Break with Paddy O’Rourke!
This isn’t Dorrance author Patti B. Pruitt’s first published book. In fact, this latest book is a sequel to her first, Meeting Paddy O’Rourke.
The inspiration for these two stories came from her Grampa Mac, who actually introduced her to Paddy O’Rourke. Her grandfather would share letters with her that detailed the mischievous leprechaun’s exploits.
Pruitt’s latest installment is a continuation of the surprising adventures of Jason and the leprechaun, Paddy, that he inherited from his grandfather.
In this story, Jason is almost nine years old and growing increasingly more excited for his much-anticipated spring break with his family and friends in Destin. While his excitement is mounting, so too is his frustration as their plans are being threatened by his bratty cousins and a series of too-close-for-comfort catastrophes.
Paddy isn’t helping matters either as he continues to revel in impish pranks at the expense of Jason’s pride. But, just as Paddy is a bit of a troublemaker, he and his unusual friends are always nearby and ready to smooth out any issues that might arise for his young friend.
Whether you’re older or younger, this book is meant for readers of all ages as its spirited comedy will take you on a fun Spring Break with Paddy O’Rourke.
